Was able to locate another EX 1911 engine. Even though this is a magneto engine, there are parts my battery engine can use. I REALLY appreciate the heads up from a friend on this one.

First start up since I parked for the winter. Had lots of fine tuning to do. However good to hear it fire up!

Received some phenolic today to machine for my insulators in the ignition system. Not sexy or interesting, but necessary. Next is machining them so I have a good one and some spares.

Not a biggie, but every step is a step forward. Pinion gear off now I can separate the cases to grab the lower end to rebuild as a spare.

Working on a cylinder getting ready to cut off the damaged base and install a new sleeve/base. We will also have to weld up and machine the intake threads. An experiment so we will see how it goes. I’ll post the “after” results.

New pistons have arrived. Made a little taller than stock for a little bit more compression. Have some spares to play with as we work on the two engines.
