More Engine Work
Tearing apart a spare engine today. All case bolts came out OK with the help of Kroil and heat. I’ll clean this up and assess the situation. I am still amazed how these were produced and assembled in 1911!

Ignition
Working on the ignition block today. I obtained some phonetic material to machine for my needs. Testing the torque strength on this material. Holds great!

Might not seem like much, however getting these two crankcase bolts loose was my highlight today. #kroilrules

Riding in Texas
I attended a great event this weekend in Livingston, TX. Carson’s Classics Road run. What a blast. A good friend trailered my bike to the event and I had a chance to ride it. Somewhat nervous in front of all the people but I must say the bike operated flawlessly. What a blast!

Oil Priming
Oiling is another thing I am learning here. This engine is a “total loss oil system” which means oil enters the engine and is “trapped”. It does not recirculate back to the oil tank. It accumulates in the engine. Every so many miles the oil needs to be drained from the crankcase to keep the level under a certain amount. You want to start the day with 4 ounces of oil and adjust the oil “drip” to eight drops per minute. So simple yet so complex. Here’s how you start the day.

Matching Engine Numbers
Latest engine has all matching numbers. This a very early engine as 1911 production started with number 9247.
